NYT reported Q1/2018 net profit highest in 2 years

Thai automotive industry is rising again driven from the Middle East market of which their economic have been gradually recovered. Furthermore there were throughputs from Port A1 that had to switch to support cruise tourism follow Thai Government's policy. As a result, export car throughputs of the company in the first quarter of 2018 increased 8.39% from the same period of previous year, while import car throughputs increased 47.68%. Namyong Terminal Plc. ("NYT") reported total service income of Baht 358.47 million, increased by Baht 19.04 million or 5.61% from the same period last year, which was mainly from increase in revenue from port services of Baht 21.91 million or 7.66%.

Warehouse service revenue dropped by Baht 2.87 million or -5.40%, due to the contract terminations with some customers since the end of last year. However this partially mitigated by new customer and rate escalation consistent with the agreement.

However cost of services also increased by Baht 13.38 million or 7.36%, which mainly due from the variable costs that increase in consistent with the throughput volume and rise of rental expenses.

NYT reported consolidated net profit for Q1/2018 of Baht 104.62 million, increased by 4.78 million or 4.79% from the same period last year.
